New technique could reduce number of animals needed to test chemical safety

ScienceDaily (June 29, 2012) ? A new way of testing the safety of natural and synthetic chemicals has been developed by scientists with funding from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC). Their research, published June 30 in the journal Ecotoxicology, could reduce the number of fish needed to test the toxicity of a range of chemicals including pharmaceuticals and environmental pollutants.

The researchers, led by Professor Awadhesh Jha of Plymouth University, have managed to coax cells from the liver of a rainbow trout to form a ball-shaped structure called a spheroid in a petri dish. This ball of cells behaves much more like normal animal tissue than cells grown in traditional ways in the lab and so can give researchers a more accurate picture of how an animal's body would respond to a chemical in the environment.

Fish are used to test whether both new and existing chemicals like pharmaceuticals can damage wildlife or the environment. Because a large number of spheroids can be produced from a single fish the use of this technique could mean less fish are needed to do these tests.

Professor Jha explains, "This is a real breakthrough in our efforts to reduce the numbers of fish needed for toxicology testing. It is very important for the health of people, wildlife and whole ecosystems that we understand the effect of chemicals, both natural and humanmade, in the environment, but we must strive to avoid the use of animals wherever possible."

One of the most impressive aspects of the fish spheroids is that they can be maintained in the lab for over a month. Many environmental pollutants cause health problems because they accumulate over time and become more concentrated further up the food chain. Because the fish spheroids can be maintained for longer time periods than normal cell cultures scientists can test the effect of long-term exposure to a potential toxin.

The fish spheroids were produced by a BBSRC-funded CASE student, Matthew Baron, who is being supervised by Professor Jha and his colleagues at Plymouth and AstraZeneca Safety Health and Environment. At present, scientists can use flat layers of fish cells to replace some live animal tests but these break down quickly and do not behave like real tissues. Spheroids are already well established models for testing on mammalian cells but this is the first time that they have been developed from fish cells.

Because the liver filters blood it is often the main organ where potential environmental toxins accumulate and are broken down by the body and so is the most important organ for testing toxicity. The researchers also hope to produce spheroids from fish gill cells, as the gills are another important site of toxin accumulation. By combining these two types of spheroids in a single system the researchers hope to develop a 'virtual fish' which could give a clear picture of how a particular chemical would affect a live animal.

Is Amazon Really Hiding Highly Discounted Products From You?

Certainly Amazon does contain many products that are highly discounted ? sometimes as much as 99%, with many products discounted between 80% ? 99%? But are these items presented to you when you search the Amazon websites, or are they hidden away from view?

Amazon itself denies this accusation saying that all products they stock, not matter what discount they may carry or profit margin they may yield, can be seen on the Amazon websites.

Amazon Bargain Hunting!

Independent experiments have been undertaken to see if there is any truth to the ?Amazon hidden bargain? theory. I carried out such an experiment myself recently searching Amazon.com for a variety of highly discounted products that I knew were lurking somewhere within the website, and the results were interesting.

Without going into details in this article, the general conclusion I reached was that many of the products I was searching for did not show in the first 15 pages of Amazon?s search results.

Of course the search results you get at Amazon is very much dependent on the search term you use, and which department of Amazon you restrict your search to (if any): the more specific the search term, the more likely the product you are searching for will be seen in the search results.

Of course, many people searching Amazon will be using generic search terms such as ?men?s watch? rather than say ?Invicta Men?s 1461 Vintage Collection Riveted Leather Strap Brown Dial Watch?. If you use the first generic search term ?men?s watch? you are unlikely to be presented with the highly discounted product the second search term actually is! But when you do such a search you don?t know that the ?Invicta Men?s 1461 Vintage Collection Riveted Leather Strap Brown Dial Watch? is discounted 93% off normal list price so you are not likely to use such a specific search term!

Conclusion

Amazon may not be ?hiding? the real bargains it contains on purpose, but from my experience because of the way Amazon works it can take a long time and some luck and juggling of search terms and departments to find them!

For this reason, if you really want to find the bargains on Amazon it is a good idea to use one of the ?Amazon Discount Finder? websites that exist out there now that can pre-filter the products for you. This is a strategy that saves time as well as money. Search on ?amazon discount finder? or similar term to locate these websites.

It is definitely a better way to proceed when looking for reasonable products that you need for presents for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and similar occasions where you need a quality item but want it at a great price.

Discover the ?hidden? bargains and massively discounted products available now on Amazon.com at author Lee Gillett?s website ?The Amazing Bargain Store? at http://www.AmazingBargainStore.com

Mosquitoes survive collisions with raindrops by going with the flow

Web edition : Thursday, June 28th, 2012

You may barely notice when a raindrop lands on your head. But if you were a mosquito, you?d definitely notice: It would be like a bus falling onto you in midair.?

But a falling raindrop doesn?t spell doom for the plucky mosquito, say scientists behind a new study. The pesky bloodsucker might get tossed, rocked and rolled, but its strong body and small size help it survive such collisions. And when a raindrop lands directly on the bug?s back, the mosquito gets taken on a wild ride.

Supreme Court Year in Review

Finally, if I get one more email from someone predicting the outcome of tomorrow?s health care cases based on a judicial speech, the timing of a dissent, or the telling flare of a judicial eyebrow, I am going to set my Out of Office response to the ?fleeting expletives? setting. Truly, nobody knows what?s going to happen, and the group hypnosis that convinced everyone that the mandate would be struck down on Monday?and is equally adamant that it will be upheld tomorrow?is starting to make me feel like a member of a very troubled cult. My friend Professor Barry Friedman at NYU* described it to me this way today: "Everyone keeps saying, ?The longer this goes on, the more I'm thinking X will happen.? But that's nuts; the decision was always going to come down on the last day of the term. What we're really seeing is our own anxiety about the case circling around in our heads.? I agree. Barton loses QPR captaincy, fined 6 weeks' wages

Associated Press Sports

updated 9:04 a.m. ET June 25, 2012

LONDON (AP) -Queens Park Rangers stripped Joey Barton of the captaincy and fined him six weeks' wages on Monday for his violent conduct against Manchester City players in the final round of the Premier League last season.

Last month, Barton was banned for 12 matches by the English Football Association and fined 75,000 pounds ($118,000) for elbowing Carlos Tevez, kicking Sergio Aguero and trying to head-butt Vincent Kompany before being escorted off the Eastlands pitch by his teammates.

"The club has also reached agreement with Barton that if he seriously breaches the club's disciplinary procedures again, the club reserves the right to terminate his contract," QPR said in a statement.

The 29-year-old midfielder will also miss QPR's pre-season tour of Asia in July.

Barton, who was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of affray after being involved in an altercation outside a nightclub, was contrite about his actions during a match in which his team only narrowly avoided relegation.

"I was reckless and deserved every punishment I received," he said on Twitter. "Money comes and goes, it's not important to me. Losing the captaincy and missing 12 games, is what really hurts. I was stupid and that what happens when u do dumb things. I am confident (I'll) bounce back. Cannot wait."

Since joining QPR, Barton has spent the last year - primarily through Twitter - trying to convince the public that he is no longer the volatile person who was previously jailed for a street assault and accumulated a long list of fines and bans from the FA.

At his first club, Man City, Barton punched a teammate in the eye during training and pushed a lit cigar into a teenage teammate's eye at a Christmas party.

After that incident in December 2004, Barton had another row with a 15-year-old Everton fan in Bangkok and was fined eight weeks' wages by City. The following season, Barton dropped his shorts and exposed his backside to Everton fans and was fined for misconduct.

In 2007, Barton appeared to have straightened out his life and he even received a call-up to the England team, going on as a substitute in a 1-0 loss to Spain.

But the bad behavior soon returned and he was arrested after a violent argument with a taxi driver. He was then suspended by City after punching teammate Ousmane Dabo during training, which later led to a suspended jail sentence and the FA suspending him for six games.

Barton transferred to Newcastle in 2008 but he was arrested in Liverpool after a street brawl and eventually received a six-month jail sentence for assault and fighting.

Barton was allowed to leave Newcastle on a free transfer in August 2011 following his public criticism of the club.

What's New within the World of Automobile Audio? | Mobile Audio ...

It?s fascinating to accept how so much and quick automobile radio technology has evolved. you cannot even very simply decision it ?car radio? anymore, as a result of it includes most over that.

From the beginning of the auto era, if anybody knew the way to place a home radio into their automobile it absolutely was just about the sole possibility. These were typically DIY and tweaked versions of home radios, home stereos, that the everyday tinkerer may need come back up with. Rarely, if ever, was something truly included within the initial producing build of these older cars any time before the 50s/60s (it is tough to seek out a precise date/model automobile that 1st shipped with a radio factory installed).

In the 60s there have been reel-to-reel players that quickly evolved into 8-track cartridges, that then in flip additionally quickly evolved into cassette tapes by the late 70s. 1985 saw the primary automobile CD player ? currently twenty eight years ago!

After CDs arrived, it became clear that digital was the thanks to go and that we soon saw automobile technology following the trail of the pc system. several of identical technologies are used, and therefore the trend of shrinking knowledge right down to the tiniest phsyical units was terribly helpful for automobile audio as portability was such a primary issue of thought.

Now, who remembers what a automobile phone used to appear like? a true, true, actual 1st gen automobile phone. The very huge phones that you simply had to wire to your automobile itself. whereas it?s true that automobile audio equipment of generations past will and will look quite retro, the transportable technology we have a tendency to used to possess appearance fully prehistoric. In-car technology has progressed at a lightning rate and if you compare the parts from day one against what we?ve nowadays then you would possibly not even apprehend they performed identical approach.

Today we have a tendency to are seeing a merging of those technologies into one unit that controls music, radio, communication, and most additional that we have a tendency to used to never dream concerning. MP3s are a basic a part of automobile audio for pretty much twenty years. Cell phones are utterly integrated because of Bluetooth wireless systems. And additional and additional we have a tendency to are seeing these management units incorporating options and skills of our computers and smartphones.

The latest generation of controllers created for automobile travel ? controllers like Sony?s MirrorLink or the Clarion Next GATE ? embody all the favored apps you discover everybody using today: Streaming radio, Facebook, Twitter, GPS, and therefore the ability to feature additional, too. there?s most out there to each driver and passenger that never used to be, and it will be right at your fingertips.

AB InBev in talks to buy Mexico's Modelo

BRUSSELS/LONDON (Reuters) - Anheuser-Busch InBev SA's interest in buying the rest of Mexico's Grupo Modelo on Monday warmed investors eager to see fresh consolidation in the global beer market.

Shares of both brewing giants rose after Modelo and Belgian-based AB InBev, which has a 50.4 percent noncontrolling stake in the Mexican company, said on Monday they are discussing expanding their joint relationship.

Fueled by Mexico's growing beer market, AB InBev could unlock big cost savings and give the company control of exports of Corona beer, the No. 1 imported brand in the United States.

The deal, which would follow a series of recent mergers in the industry, could be worth well over $10 billon, though the family-controlled Mexican brewer said nothing was set in stone.

"These talks may or may not result in the consummation of a deal and any speculation on the terms and conditions is premature," Modelo said in a statement.

An agreement would give Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest brewer, access to the Mexican beer market which is growing by 2 to 3 percent a year.

Mexico is the world's sixth-biggest beer market and the fourth-most profitable, and is a virtual duopoly between No. 1 player Modelo and Heineken .

In terms of volume, Modelo is the world's seventh-biggest brewer, according to independent researcher Plato Logic.

Market analysts said it would be a good deal for AB InBev.

"We believe a take-out price would be closer to $15 billion, equating to a 30 percent control premium in line with historic average brewing premiums," said analysts at Citi, who believe the deal could generate at least $250 million in cost savings.

Still, AB InBev must win the approval of the close-knit group of Modelo shareholders - many of whom are related to the company's founders - who control the company.

That is unlikely to come cheaply.

Modelo shares jumped 19.3 percent to close at 116.87 pesos ($8.37) on Mexico's stock exchange, which earlier suspended trading in the stock after it soared early on. That made Modelo worth about $27.2 billion at today's exchange rate.

AB InBev shares, which were also briefly suspended, closed up 2 percent at 56.75 euros ($70.82), making them the biggest gainer in the FTSEurofirst 300 index <.fteu3> of leading European shares.

A deal would benefit AB InBev because it would give the company control of a brand that sets the price for import beers, or the high end of the beer market in the United States, wrote Consumer Edge Research analyst Brett Cooper.

So far, the plus side of AB InBev's relationship with Modelo has been limited to a stream of dividends, noted analysts at ratings agency Fitch Ratings.

ROCKY RELATIONSHIP

Banking sources said the two sides were in intensive talks, but the sticking point was the size of the premium the Modelo families can extract from AB InBev.

"The families are willing to sell but they want a big price as they see a big boost for AB InBev from owning 100 percent of Modelo," said one banker close to the talks.

AB InBev inherited its stake in Modelo when InBev bought Anheuser-Busch in 2008 for $52 billion, and after sharply cutting debt and reporting free cash flow of $9.1 billion in 2011, the group has scope to finance a possible deal in cash.

It would be the latest in a string of changes in the global brewing industry as companies seek growth in emerging markets and look to make big savings in procurement and distribution.

In April, AB InBev agreed to buy the Dominican Republic's Cerveceria Nacional Dominicana for more than $1.2 billion, while in the same month Molson Coors bought East European brewer StarBev for 2.65 billion euros ($3.5 billion), and last year SABMiller purchased Foster's for $11.8 billion.

A deal between Mexico City-based Modelo and AB InBev could finally end what has been a rocky relationship since 2008, when Modelo launched an arbitration case claiming it was not consulted about InBev's acquisition of Anheuser-Busch.

The way was cleared for AB InBev to increase its Modelo stake when the Mexican brewer lost the case in 2010, but Modelo Chief Executive Carlos Fernandez said at the time that controlling shareholders would not sell their stake.

Shares of Constellation Brands Inc , which has a joint venture with Modelo called Crown Imports, rose 12.9 percent to close at $21.86 on speculation that Modelo may buy Constellation's stake in Crown Imports after being acquired by AB InBev.

The joint venture imports and distributes Modelo's beers, including Corona, in the United States.

Should the US Fight a Nuclear War with Russia for Israel?

?

Jun-23-2012 14:01printcomments

The US is being driven to military intervention by foolish hawks in this country whose arrogance of power has blinded them to the seriousness of a confrontation with Russia.

Courtesy: freedomsphoenix.com

(JAMESTOWN, RI) - Russia?s Prime Minister Medvedev fired a nuclear shot across the bow of both the US and the world, but tragically the US media paid little attention to his warning of a possible nuclear confrontation over US interference in the Syrian problem.

Interesting that the Russian Prime Minister talked about the possibility of nuclear war and the media chose to pay little attention, keeping the American public once again in the dark. Medvedev warned the US against any military intervention in Syria and was quoted as saying:

?

Sometimes these [military] actions ? which undermine state sovereignty ? could result in a fully-fledged regional war, and even ? although I do not want to scare anyone ? the use of a nuclear weapon.

?

Readers should ask: why risk a nuclear war with Russia over Syria, which has no strategic value to the US? While Syria has little or no strategic value, it is very important to Israel for two reasons. Israel still maintains control over the Golan Heights, an area of land which Israel seized from Syria and has steadfastly refused to return since the end of the 1967 war.

A civil war in Syria would weaken Syria, allowing Israel to continue its illegal control over the Golan Heights. Syria is also an ally of Iran and all know that the road to Iran goes through Syria; hence a weakened Syria represents a ?weakened Iran?, which would greatly please the Israelis. The US has no real beef with Iran, but Israel is a bitter enemy of Iran because it supports Palestinian freedom and those who fight Israel for it.

Nevertheless Israel?s dispute with Iran has become America?s, for Israel controls the US Congress, and Congress by bowing to AIPAC seems perfectly willing to sacrifice American lives to remain in the good political graces of AIPAC.

The US is being driven to military intervention by foolish hawks in this country whose arrogance of power has blinded them to the seriousness of a confrontation with Russia. Along with the fanatical extremists who hunger for yet another war is the Israeli lobby, which would like nothing better than for the US to use its military power to weaken Syria, as was done with Libya and Iraq.

Israel is incessantly using its political capital in the US Congress, which has been aptly described as ?occupied territory? through its agent AIPAC, and has pushed the US ever closer to a war with Iran. The US, pushed strongly by Israel, has made it virtually impossible for a negotiated settlement with Iran over its nuclear program. The goal is to put Iran in a box from which there is no negotiated settlement, and then advocate a war, arguing negotiations has failed. Nothing could be better for Israel than having the US fight a war with Iran, except taking Syria down along the way.

All Middle East US policy is dictated by Israel, and it is certainly no coincidence that over the years Israel?s most bitter enemies have included Libya, Iraq, and Iran, and Syria. The US had taken down 2 of the 4, and it appears only a matter of time before AIPAC convinces the US government that the time to attack the other two is at hand.

What is unnerving however is Medvedev?s statement about being pushed too far and facing a nuclear showdown with Russia, who has seen itself pushed to the limits by an aggressive US policy of establishing missile bases all around Russia in their former satellite nations. Russia has been provoked too many times, and now appears to be sending a very strong signal that it will not allow the US to use force in Syria.

Adding to the seriousness was the incident between the US and Russia over Russia?s sending what we said were ?attack? helicopters to the Syrian government. The US made a huge deal of this, accusing Russia of siding with the government of Syria by sending ?attack? helicopters to the Syrian government, while the US was hypocritically aiding the rebels by sending arms and ammunition in a Civil War.

The US had to back off its claim when it learned the helicopters were merely refurbished and not attack helicopters. It was also revealed that the US considered the use of military force in stopping the Russian ship to prevent the helicopters from reaching Syria. Even discussing such and option is a frightening scenario and it demonstrates the true nature of the arrogance of power in this country.

Russia, with its warning, has apparently drawn a ?line in the sand? and is unwilling to allow the US to continue to meddle in Russia?s back yard. They seem to be saying the imperial drive of the US will be stopped in Syria, and in a late breaking story the Russians today announced any plan to unseat Assad, the leader of Syria as being unacceptable.

In recent years they have tolerated imperial expansion, but Putin is under political fire to take a strong position against any further US encroachment, and Syria appears to be the line the sand. So the ultimate question is: do we risk a nuclear exchange with Russia to placate Israel?s desire to have us do battle with Syria and Iran? In the near future we will find out just who the US Congress really represents.

BEIRUT (AP) ? Syria's state news agency says President Bashar Assad has formed a new government headed by a loyalist member of his Baath Party.

Assad had promised after the May 7th parliamentary elections to make the government more inclusive to politicians from other parties. But the appointment as prime minister of Baathist Riad Farid Hijab, a former agriculture minister, raised questions about his commitment to that pledge

There was no change on Friday in the key posts at the foreign, defense and interior ministries.

The opposition boycotted the parliamentary elections. Parliament is considered little more than a rubber stamp in Syria, where the president and a tight coterie of advisers hold the real power.

PFT: Chris Johnson compares himself to LeBron

Anthony HargroveAP

Regardless of what anyone thinks the 2009 NFC title game sideline video shows (or doesn?t show), it doesn?t conclusively demonstrate the identity of the person who utters the key words ?give me my money? after assistant head coach Joe Vitt tells member of the Saints defense that Vikings quarterback Brett Favre may have a broken leg.

Still, the league stridently believes, despite an inability to see the mouth, lips, face, or head of former Saints defensive end Anthony Hargrove when ?give me my money? is uttered, that Hargrove defintely said the words.? It would make much more sense for the league to simply claim that someone from the Saints defense said it, which constitutes general proof that someone on the Saints defense knew about the existence of a bounty on Brett Favre.

That?s precisely what NFL general counsel Jeff Pash was expected to say during a Friday appearance on PFT Live.? And that seems to be what he started to say when explaining the league?s interpretation.? But then it subtly changed.

?What that video tape rather clearly demonstrates is two things,? Pash said.? ?One, there was a program and it corroborates rather clearly that there was a program where a player could be rewarded for making a play that resulted in an injury to an opponent ? you were basically making that point during the break.? Second, it demonstrates Mr. Hargrove?s awareness of the program and his understanding that it existed, and it demonstrates that his statements to our investigators in early 2010 denying the program and saying there was nothing like that? in existence were false.? That is the basis on which the Commissioner imposed discipline on Mr. Hargrove.?

Assuming that it was defensive tackle Remi Ayodele who said ?give me my money? (and not, for example, some guy off camera who was trying to get his change from the hot dog vendor), Pash?s initial observation is correct.? His second point continues to depend, however, on a finding that Hargrove and no one else said, ?Give me my money.?? And the video simply does not prove that.

The flaw could be fatal to the league?s case against Hargrove, if/when the NFLPA files litigation advancing theories that allow a judge to get to the merits of the case.? The 16 exhibits produced by the NFL (which Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com has graded, one by one) contain no mention or suggestion or hint of Hargrove paying money in, taking money out, or otherwise being aware of the bounty program.? The only way the league can prove that Hargrove knew about the bounty program and that he in turn lied to investigators is to prove that Hargrove and no one else said, ?Give me my money.?

The declaration he submitted in April, contrary to the league?s interpretation of it, doesn?t contain an admission that Hargrove lied.? Instead, it shows that defensive coordinator Gregg Williams and assistant head coach Joe Vitt told him to say that there was no bounty program, and that Hargrove complied ? without commentary on whether what he was saying was the truth.? Pash?s comments strongly suggest that, if Hargrove didn?t say, ?Give me my money,? there?s no proof that Hargrove?s story to investigators was untrue.

Regarding the question of whether the league believes Saints players deliberately intended to injure opponents, Pash explained that the NFL never tries to determine intent.? ?We have always consistently, going back for decades, going back to when Pete Rozelle was Commissioner, not made intent a part of the disciplinary decision because you can?t read someone?s mind,? Pash said.? ?You can only look at the objective evidence.?

That?s fine.? But it appears in this case that the NFL is trying to read Hargrove?s mind.? And, in turn, to put words in his mouth.

At a time when Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma already has filed a defamation claim regarding the things the league has publicly said about his involvement in the situation, it wouldn?t be a shock if Hargrove eventually does the same thing.

Facebook Dodges IPO Wall of SHAME

Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) has its recent rally to thank for helping it avoid the embarrassment of being the biggest loser among the largest U.S. initial public offerings since the start of last year. The social network, which opened for public trading on May 18 at an offering price of $38 and tumbled to a low of $25.87 on June 5, has now rallied 22.86 percent over the last two weeks.

PetroLogistics LP (NYSE:PDH)?dropped 20.4 percent in its?first month?of trading, or 3.1 percentage points more than Facebook, giving the propylene maker the worst return among the 30 largest IPOs since the beginning of last year, according to Bloomberg.

Since its slump first started over worries that the social network does not have strategies in place to keep adding revenue streams, Facebook has been working rapidly on unveiling new products and services. Last week, Facebook introduced a real-time bidding platform to better target ads to consumers.

The?opening day of trading for its stock on Nasdaq was hit by technical delays and mishandling of certain orders, causing confusion and unease among investors. There were also concerns that the stock has been overvalued by the company and its underwriting banks. They were criticized for increasing the number of available shares by 25 percent just days before the offering and pushing the offering price to $38 from an earlier maximum of $35.

Facebook and its underwriters Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS), Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS), and JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM) have been sued by investors who allege the group didn?t publicly disclose lower revenue estimates before opening the share sale. The underwriters are expected to release their first public reports?on the company next week.

Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) is also likely to join the Russell 1000?Index soon and that may prompt the purchase of 11.7 million shares by investors tracking the gauge, Macquarie said on June 11.

However, analysts are not buying the recovery just yet. ?We?ll continue to exercise caution,??Richard Greenfield, an analyst at BTIG LLC who has a neutral rating on the stock, told Bloomberg. ?The path to mobile monetization is unclear. Brands are still learning to use the Facebook platform.?

The stocks of Zynga (NASDAQ:ZNGA)?and?Groupon (NASDAQ:GRPN)?also declined right after their IPOs, with the former falling 7.8 percent in its first month of trading and the latter dropping 4.8 percent.

Shares of Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) closed Friday higher 3.8% at $33.05 per share.

Apple Store Employees Soak Up the Atmosphere, But Not Much Cash

raque writes "The NYTimes is reporting on just how badly Apple Retail employees are being paid. Apple is exploiting its fan base for cheap labor. This is one reason I don't go to Apple Stores if I can avoid it. Stores like NY's Tekserve offer a great shopping experience without so exploiting their workers." Would you rather start at an Apple store for $11.91 an hour (average starting base pay, according to the linked article) and an employee discount, or at Tiffany for $15.60?

How to Choose the Right Health and Healing Institute

Benefiting from alternative medicine is synonymous to choosing the right health and healing institute. After all, given the abundance of centers that offer alternative healing services, it would only be appropriate to assume that not all are capable of providing the best care possible. With this in mind, it becomes clear that choosing an institute solely based on price-competitiveness might lead to unsatisfying outcomes, after all cost should not be much of an issue in alternative medicine unlike in conventional healing approaches. The question remains, however, as to which aspects should one focus upon while searching for a reliable alternative healing center. ? ?
?
Upon realizing that it is time to take advantage of alternative medicine and upon carrying out an initial search for the ideal health and healing institute, one should keep in mind that not all centers provide the same assortment of treatments.

Hence, when choosing among alternative healthcare centers, it would be best to know exactly which healing methods would suit one?s needs. Likewise, it would be best to determine beforehand which alternative healing approaches would be most acceptable: for example, even though there are those who enjoy acupuncture sessions, some would never be able to picture themselves being pierced with numerous needles.
?
After finally identifying a health and healing institute that offers the right services, it would then be necessary to seek answers to a few questions regarding payment. Whether through phone or through email, it would be ideal to ask whether one?s alternative healing center of choice provides trial sessions. After all, even though many try to attain optimal health through alternative medicine, not all are able to achieve astounding results. Also, even if one has insurance that covers such unconventional treatments, it would still be wise to make sure that one?s preferred institute accepts the particular insurance brand to avoid payment issues later on.
?
Once certain that a particular health and healing institute suits one?s preferences in terms of payment-related facets, it would then be most suitable to pay a visit. Upon arriving at the center, it would be best to determine whether it has a welcoming atmosphere that encourages healing. Likewise, it would also be necessary to assess the center?s staff based on their eagerness to help patients: as alternative healing approaches are more personalized and holistic than conventional methods, a doctor who offers such unorthodox means of boosting one?s health should be more than capable of paying attention to every bit of detail regarding one?s ailments. ?
?
Choosing the right alternative healing center is not a simple task. As mentioned, aside from gaining sufficient knowledge regarding the services offered by centers that pique one?s interest, it is also necessary to obtain enough information regarding payment options. As also pointed out, thoroughly assessing a center based on its environment and staff, is necessary so as to determine whether one?s health would truly be taken care of, in the best possible way. Nonetheless, even though identifying a top-notch health and healing institute is time consuming, completing such a task successfully is a significant step towards better health.
